There is an extensive, almost infinite, range of plant materials – varied and rich. We use plant materials to create mood and texture and layers. Flowers, berries, fall foliage, exfoliating bark - all of these elements contribute to the four-season experience of your garden.

The selection of plants for your gardens will be varied and responsive to your wishes. There will be year-round interest with consideration for color, fragrance, texture and shape. We will find the right plants – and they will not be what you see at every nursery. We will work with both new and existing plant material – moving things around, amending and improving the soil, the plants, the design.

Special effort is always made to find what our clients need or want. (For one client we even flew to western Massachusetts to pick up the trees that we needed.) We walk together with you on your grounds, through other gardens and through our nursery. We talk, advise, imagine and recommend. Plants are related to memories. Gardens transport us to times and places because of the look and feel and especially the smells. Smell, more than any other sense, transports us. When you step into your garden, we want you to be transported - away from the stresses and to the calm of your garden world.
